Our family is a circle of
Strength and love.

With every birth
And every marriage
The circle grows.

Every joy shared
Adds more love.

Every crisis
Faced together makes
The circle stronger.

It's unfortunate that it sometimes takes a death of a loved one to bring family together or to realize what someone means to you. Shawn has a pretty big family most though live pretty far away and some he never actually got to meet. He did cherish his family. His Grandfather was his best Bud, his cousin was his best friend and his Aunt and her daughters(his cousins) were basically his second Mother and little sisters.
Growing up Shawn and I spent a lot of time with family. I can remember my Aunts and Uncles staying over at our house or babysitting us. My brother was the closest with my Aunt Christy, who lives right next door to my Grandfather. It really broke my Aunt's heart when he died. I know though it broke Shawn's heart to leave her.

God knew the need for someone
To add humor to our hearts.

Someone who would spice
Our lives with laughter and Mischief.

Someone we could run to
For special comfort and friendship;

Someone whose life would
Touch ours in a
Hundred different ways...

So He made Aunts

It takes many special qualities
To make a friend like you,

A lot of care and kindness
And understanding, too...

It takes a special kind of love
That seems to know no end

And the thoughtfulness and patience
Of a true and trusted friend...

It takes many special qualities
To make a friend like you,

And that's why you
Are loved so much
Today and all year through.

You Cousin,
I Will Always Treasure.

My brother spent a lot of his time with his Cousin Jerry. They were more like brothers than they were cousins. Shawn's death was and is still very hard on Jerry. A few months or so after Shawn's passing, Jerry got a tattoo on his arm in rememberance of Shawn.

My Uncle Johnny spent "the night" a lot with us when we were growing up and we always had a blast. He is a Minister and delivered the services for Shawn's Funeral. He moved away years ago and didn't get to spend as much time with Shawn as he use to, but Shawn always had him in his heart.

My Uncle Glenn and Shawn looked so much alike. When they would be together people always thought Shawn was his son. My Mom told him that it would be so hard to look at him without seeing Shawn.
Shawn was better known as "Sam" to our Uncle Jerry. Personally, I don't ever recall him actually calling him Shawn.
**I also don't currently have photos of all of Shawn's Uncles.
Other Uncles include: Nick and Jack.

My Pap was Shawn's Best Bud, I made a page especially for him, which can be seen on the GrandFathers Page. Shawn's other Grandparents are Mae and Carroll Richardson. My Grandmother will be the first to tell you that my Mom had a hard time potty training Shawn and in a matter of a day she was able to do it. My Grandpa Carroll use to call me Shawn Girl.
